Medical Direction and Protocols
Advanced Medical Transport works under the direction of two unique EMS systems depending upon the market in which our employees serve.
The Peoria, Pekin, Chillicothe and Streator markets work under the medical direction of the Peoria Area EMS System (PAEMS). PAEMS serves a nine-country radius in central Illinois and covers one of the largest and most diverse areas in the Midwest. Dedicated, skilled and courageous, its 1,600 providers from over 75 agencies include paramedics, firefighters, police, dispatchers and first responders.
The Aledo, Rock Island and Iowa City markets work under the direction of the Trinity EMS System. Trinity EMS system is comprised of 36 EMS services, ranging from First Responder to Advanced Life Support to dispatch services. They serve patients in Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, and Whiteside counties in Illinois and also partner with services in Clinton, Scott, and Muscatine Counties in Iowa.
All providers in the PAEMS System and the Trinity EMS System must go through the process of system entry before providing emergency medical care. To start the system entry process please select the appropriate system and form(s) and follow the instructions on the form. Once your form(s) and required documentation are processed; you and Advanced Medical Transport will receive a letter allowing you to function within the appropriate system. You may not function until you receive the letter.
